$1,100 raised for Omega House
To the editor:
The 8th annual Summertime and the Livin’ is Easy benefit recital for Omega House took place the evening of July 15th. Close to 180 attendees enjoyed our community gathering of local musical artists who offered selections from opera, Broadway, light opera, folk and blues, at Saints Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, in Houghton, where Pastor Dave Weber and Judy Fenske welcomed us. Headliners included Steve Jones, The Maple Sugar Folk and Noteworthy
Our heartfelt thanks go to Lara Neves, co-chair of the concert. Lara’s tireless efforts resulted in one of our most successful benefit concerts. We also thank the many individuals and musical groups for their outstanding contributions: Mark Oliver, Steve Jones, Barry Pegg, Maggie Kieckhafer, Eponine Zenker, Trisha Kuzmic, Karin Schlenker, Dave Bezotte, Greg Campbell, Paul Seitz, Courtney Clisch, Ruth Robertson, Jan Dalquist, Ann Campbell, Lara Neves, Pastor Dave Weber, The Maple Sugar Folk, David Owens, Emilie Krznarich, Barbara Lide, Joel Neves, Mollie Trewartha, Dollcie Webb, Bill Francis, Roger Kieckhafer, Denzell Silvia, and Noteworthy.
Thanks to our volunteers and nurse aides at Omega House who baked dozens of cookies for concert attendees: Carol Niileksela, Jeanine Hulkonnen, Delores Kotajarvi, Violet Lara, Stephanie Wolck and Stephanie LaRoux. And finally, thank you Adele Masters for welcoming concertgoers.
The event raised over $1100 for the care of residents at Omega House.
