Farm Block Fest was great

To the editor:

On August 1-3, we hosted the 7th annual reunion benefit for the nonprofit, Dan Schmitt Gift of Music and Education Fund, known as Farm Block Fest. The weekend was a great success with approximately 500 people attending.

The money raised will be used to provide music instruction and outdoor education to area youth.

We want to publicly thank our friends, neighbors, musicians, and our fantastic staff and volunteers who helped make the festival such a great weekend. We also want to thank the following local businesses for their generous donations: Fitzgerald’s Restaurant, 41 Lumber, A-1 Toy-Lets, Keweenaw Coffee Works, Jon Simila Wood Products, Keweenaw Co-op, Ace Hardware, Ray’s Polish Fire, Tractor Supply Co., North Harvest CSA Farm, Hughes Farm, Tony’s Country Kitchen, and Universal Metal Works.

Thank you!

The Parsons Family
